You will be amazed how much you’ll be able to do by the end of the week! Learn to ride and take care of a horse at a relaxed and easy going pace. On this package you will learn how to approach & handle horses confidently and gain an insight into horse behaviour & instincts. It won't be long before you enjoy the Irish countryside on your trusty steed. This is also a great holiday for a little confidance boost!
2. Dublin Mountain Explorer – Horseback riding holiday

Explore the spectacular Dublin countryside on horseback where you are sure to see wild deer, rabbits, foxes and native Irish birdlife. Take in the scenery as you meander along winding forest paths, scaling valleys and steep climbs to the top of the hill. A breathtaking view awaits!

Relax and enjoy a scenic adventure on horseback. Experience starting your trail at the site of an ancient Monastic settlement, learn about how the early Christians dealt with Viking invaders, discover a pre Christian ring fort, absorb magnificent vistas over Dublin City, Leinster and Irish Sea and enjoy some world famous Irish Storytelling as your guide winds your path through rural Ireland. Our guides love to tell stories of local history, Irish folklore and native tales. Let your imagination go wild!
4. The Royal Dublin Society's International Dublin Horse Show
Since it was first held in 1864, the Dublin Horse Show has become a national celebration. This horse show celebrates Dublin's affinity with horse sports by welcoming the best international show jumpers from around the world. It is one of Ireland's largest and most spectacular events, a highlight of the Summer and welcomes tens of thousands of spectators from all over the world.
Settle into your Four star Country House Hotel and Leisure Centre where you will be staying for the week.
After a hearty Irish Breakfast be prepared to meet your guide and hosts for the week. You will be given a guided tour of our facility, stables and horses. Then meet your four legged partner for an assessment lesson ensuring your comfort. This is a great opportunity to get used to your horse and our instructors will give you individual tips to ensure you get the best out of our beautiful Irish horses. After a hearty Lunch, our guides take you for a trail ride which will help you bond with your horse and hear all about our fantastic local folklore and interesting history.
After a hearty Irish breakfast join us for a half day trail ride through the beautiful forests on top of the Dublin Mountains. See the spectacular views over Dublin, listen to your guide tell story's of the historical sites you pass by with opportunities for a long invigorating gallop through the forest. After lunch we can arrange an activity of your choice. There is plenty of options from a round of golf, explore Dublin City and Avoca hand weavers or avail of the many treatments at the Leisure centre's spa.
After breakfast, we will collect you from your hotel and bring you for a guided visit to the opening day of the International Dublin Horse Show. With live music, entertainment, art, fashion, antiques, and no less than 10 arenas show casing the best of Irish Show Jumping, Performance Hunters, Side Saddle competitions, Displays from Master Equestrians not to mention the finest of Irish breeding showing classes including Irish Draught Stallions, Connemara Mares and foals. Any possible equestrian craving will be satisfied!
If you would like to attend any additional days we can arrange tickets for you and your group. The main attractions are Lady's Day on Thursday, the FEI Nations Cup for the Aga Khan Trophy on Friday and the Land Rover Puissance on Saturday and Logines Grand Prix on Sunday.

Example Equestrian Holiday Programme:
Day 1 - Sunday:
Arrive at your Traditional Irish B&B, rustic Self-Catering apartment or luxury 4 Star Hotel for a chance to settle in, get your bearings and perhaps enjoy a pint of the black stuff in the local Irish Pub. Relax and enjoy your evening!
Day 2 - Monday:
After a hearty traditional Irish Breakfast, arrive in plenty of time for a warm Irish welcome and chance to meet your trusty steed for the week! Enjoy an Introductory Lesson and get your first proper look at the awe inspiring Irish Landscape during our famous Castlefield Trail Ride starting at the site of an ancient 7th Century Celtic Monastery.
Meet the rest of the group during orientation and get to know them better during your included lunches in our Loft Café.
Dinner options: Enjoy some old Irish “craic” at the Swift bar and gastro pub at the 4 star luxury Citywest Hotel
Day 3 - Tuesday:
Imagine starting your riding trail at the last standing section of an Ancient Monastic Site, following a winding path through Coolmine Equestrian's 80 acre estate, through streams, over jumps and through marshy land with breath-taking views of Dublin city and the Bay below, looking North to the Famous Hill of Tara. Continue on to explore the old Stony Lane Trail from Dublin to Kildare and image what it was like to ride your horse past the historic farms and houses of bygone Ireland.
Relax and relate your adventures during lunch with the group before embarking on the Excursion to the Irish National Stud, Japanese Gardens, Kildare Village, Glendalough, Guinness Brewery or another famous site of great historic significance.
Day 4 - Wednesday:
Ireland’s vibrant history is reflected in a striking variety of prehistoric evidence scattered across the country, like megalithic tombs and dolmens, Celtic ring forts and burial sites - each of them with its own individual local legend and myths. The Celtic culture and language dominated Irish history for thousands of years, and even now, that legacy is still in Ireland. Enjoy learning Irish History and Lore during our Irish Folklore Trail
Meet your new friends for lunch and plan what to do with your free afternoon – you can try some archery, golf, hillwalking, exploring or relaxing
Day 5 - Thursday:
Hope you had a hearty breakfast! It’s time for the Full Day Trail Ride to Slieve Thoul. Ride through Lynch Park before climbing upward to venture through the Dublin Mountains Forest with breath-taking views of Dublin city and the Bay below, looking North to the Famous Hill of Tara. Maybe take a moment to take it all in at our scenic picnic area over lunch on the trail!
Dinner options: visit the Anvil for modern Irish cuisine or grab a “chipper” – an essential experience for anyone visiting Ireland! Or end your day in style with the Historical Lyons Village for the best of Ireland’s haute cuisine
Day 6- Friday:
Conclude your week of equestrian activities with the fabulous Knocknadrinna Half Day Trail Ride. What better way to see the Irish countryside, Forest trails and Dublin Mountains with breath taking views over 5 counties all the way to the Northern Irish boarder and Irish Sea.
After lunch visit the famous Avoca Handweavers Merchant and Restaurant for some souvenir ideas! Or enjoy some well-earned pampering with a massage and prepare for your final night shindig with a beauty treatment!
Included Group Dinner & Entertainment at a historic public house. Enjoy traditional Irish Music and a pint - Sláinte!
Day 7 - Saturday:
Bid farewell to Ireland – Travel Day or take a tour and explore nearby Glendalough, Hill of Tara or Dublin City. Slán go Foill!
