English Language School

First established in 1989, Coolmine Equestrian has a wealth of experience working with various clients from a diverse range of cultures and nationalities. This experience ensures that we provide a world-class service, helping us to offer:

On the first day of class students on short-term courses take a Placement test. The grade from the test will allow the student to be placed in a class appropriate to their level. On Day 2, students are placed into classes according to their assessed level.

The syllabus has been developed specifically to engage students so that they learn not only through teacher instructions but also by doing, sharing their thoughts, ideas and stories with students from all over the world. The Syllabus is regularly updated to reflect feedback received from our students, academic staff, agents and group leaders in order to ensure the best English standards.

Summer Camp Accommodation

Residential Accommodation

The CEAD-Ireland residential accommodation consists of a large hostel style complex of spacious dorm style bedrooms. Each dorm room has an array of comfortable bunk beds varying according to the room size. Full board is included for the junior packages with healthy snacks throughout the day. All meals are designed by a Sports Nutritionist to allow maximum energy be generated from a healthy diet. 

The facilities of the hostel include 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, dining hall, clubhouse, chill-out zone and changing rooms with lockers. The junior residential accommodation is based on 35 students (two to six students per room) with a 24/7 live-in co-ordinator. Where possible our student co-ordinator ensures nationality mix in each bedroom which aids English language learning and cultural awareness.

The hostel is situated in a quiet area within the equestrian & adventure centre complex. There is a pedestrian walk way from the hostel along the centre to the reception area.

This hostel accommodation is run by the Lynch family at CEAD-Ireland since 1994 and it has the warmth and friendliness of any family home. Breakfasts and Dinners are served in the adjoining canteen with Lunch provided in the Clubhouse Cafe.

CEAD-Ireland offers a fun filled adventure camp for the energetic child! Mornings will be spent in our exclusive Equestrian Academy learning about horses, developing horse riding skills and exploring the country side on horseback. All levels of horse riding experience are welcome at our Activity Camp.

Action packed afternoons will be spent playing sports, improving visual awareness during orienteering, experiencing purely Irish GAA games, playing golf, learning new skills and developing a taste for adventure!

The various pony camps below are suitable for children and teenagers aged between 6 and 18 years old.

We have three main options:

Camp A - Intensive Eventing

9.30 am to 5 pm

This camp is for riders with experience that want to perfect their equestrian skills in Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross country, Trail Riding and Eventing. The children will get involved with all aspects of pony care, including mucking out, grooming, feeding, plaiting, bathing, tacking & rugging up, as well as riding for 3 hours each day. Riding may include flat work, jumping, cross country, trail rides, and preparation for a competition at the end of the week.

This course is for experienced riders only. Campers will need to be able to walk, trot and canter comfortably and have some experience jumping.

Camp B - Equestrian & Multi-Activity

9.30 am to 5 pm

This camp combines horse riding and fun multi-activities. Enjoy the sunny weather in our outdoors multi-activity programme and spend the rest of the day with the horses.

This fun filled adventure camp is for the energetic child! Mornings will be spent in our exclusive Equestrian Academy learning about horses, developing horse riding skills and exploring the country side on horseback. The afternoons will be filled exciting activities and team sports.

This camp is suitable for the complete beginner horse rider.

Camp C - Equestrian & Multi-Activity

9.30 am to 5 pm

Our friendly, encouraging camp councillors will ensure all campers have a great time out in the fresh air this summer!

Dublin is the perfect location for outdoor pursuits and we offer a great selection of multi-activities such as:

Pitch & Putt, Archery, Forest Orienteering, Hill Walking, Team Games, Pet Farm, Badminton, Football, Rounders, Arts & Crafts, Horse Riding, Bush Craft, Scavenger Hunts, Team competitions, Mini-Olympics and much more! 

This camp is suitable for the complete beginner horse rider.

Camp D - Junior Camp for Tiny Tots

9.30 am to 1 pm

Children from 5 - 10 years old are welcome to this camp. This camp is suitable for the complete beginner horse rider. Pony play sessions include learning all about horses and ponies in a fun friendly atmosphere.

After reviving with a hot meal and reuniting with all the other campers, evenings are spent in group activities such as pool competitions, mini-Olympics, karaoke, movie night, Irish Ceili & Riverdance extravaganza!

CEAD-Ireland Intensive Eventing horse riding summer camp is for the experienced young rider. This camp explores the world the lifestyle of Top Level Competition Riders and their horses.

The Intensive Eventing camp is suitable for teenagers who want to improve their skills in horsemanship as well as riding Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country. 

Show Jumping classes concentrate on vital show-jumping techniques such as practising strides, improving coursemanship, engagement and perfecting that show jumping canter. 

Dressage classes cover how to ride and improve your dressage test. Instructors help you develop the connection between horse and rider. This is vital to improve the horses way of going through bending, flexing and "riding on the bit". 

Cross Country classes start in one of our arenas with indoor cross country schooling on how to ride a variety of cross country fences, fine tuning the cross country position and techniques. After some practice tackle our 25 plus fence cross country course and varied terrain. Experience the thrill and exhilaration of our outdoor cross country course. 

The Intensive Eventing Camp is the perfect holiday for the budding eventer or for those who wish to seriously improve their horse riding skills and knowledge of the sport.

Days will be spent horse riding and evenings are spent relaxing with new found friends and enjoying the range of fun activities on offer each evening.

Teenagers will get a chance to show off their skills at daily Equestrian Academy where they will fill their days with our beautiful Irish Horses.

Costs:

This camp runs in week long blocks starting on Sunday evening and ending on the following Sunday at 12 noon.

This course is bookable for one week, two weeks and we provide a discount for multiple weeks. Please contact us for more information or book online. 

We ask that all campers arrive early Monday morning or on Sunday evening. This allows campers time to settle in and unpack before starting their summer camp on Monday morning. We can arrange for transport to and from the airport, please ask for information!

We have designed this intensive week horse riding to include some trail rides where you can bond with your four legged companion and soak in the views, forests and history that Dublin' countryside has to offer. So... Don't forget your camera!
